If you are having any difficulty using BugShot ammo in your bug gun, you've come to the right place. Here we outline some of the more common issues encountered and how best to remedy them. Resolving Common Issues
ISSUE: Nothing Comes Out
If you load BugShot ammo into your bug gun and immediately nothing (or very little) comes out when you rack and fire it, please check to make sure you have not overfilled the hopper. It's critical the orange spring-loaded piston be able to freely move up and down. To resolve the issue (see diagram), set the safety ON, rack the gun and open the hopper lid. Pour out any excess ammo until you can just see the top of the orange piston mechanism. Close the hopper lid and reset the safety to OFF.
ISSUE: Still Nothing Comes Out
If still nothing comes out when you rack and fire the gun, please check to make sure the gun is not clogged with salt. Empty the hopper and dry fire the gun about 5-10 times. Then, with the hopper remaining empty, fire the gun into the palm of your free hand. You should feel a strong puff of air come out. If little or no air comes out, you may have a full or partial salt clog blocking or restricting airflow into the gun barrel. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for clearing the salt clog.
ISSUE: Gun Repeatedly Misfires
Very occasionally, some bug guns will misfire a shot or two when using BugShot ammo. You will hear a "thud" and little or no ammo will come out. Usually this resolves itself on the next shot. If it does not (see diagram), turn the gun upside down and rack and fire it several times until you hear the normal "clack!" sound again. If the misfiring problem continues, your particular gun might not work reliably with BugShot ammo. Switch to a smaller grain ammo.
ISSUE: Gun Won't Rack
In some rare cases (particularly when rapid firing), the gun racking mechanism may become locked, preventing you from racking the gun for the next shot. To resolve the problem (see diagram), turn the safety ON and open the hopper lid. Then, use your finger to gently press down on the ammo feeding mechanism (the small orange piston) until you hear a "click." This should restore the gun to its normal operating state. Close the hopper lid and set the safety back to OFF.
